Back Country Tent Camp
We sold our Back Country Camp to Layne Wilcox works for UCO. Layne has wored in the tent camp with us for over ten years. We are still working with Layne and know he will offer you a first class hunt. The camp is located in the Snowcrest Mtn. Range. It is a 15 mile 4-wheel drive trip from the main lodge and an additional 4 mile horseback ride into a comfortable camp. Tents are equipped with wood stoves, lanterns, and cots. The principal game we pursue is elk, although we have also taken trophy mule deer. This area is accessible by horseback or foot only, limiting the number of hunters in the area. We are the only outfitters allowed to hunt this section of the Beaverhead National Forest. You can expect your day to begin before dawn by riding horses to the specific drainage to be hunted. Most of the day is spent spotting and stalking game. Camp is limited to 6 hunters. Because of high altitude and snow accumulation, camp is operated during the first 4 weeks of general rifle season.
