HORSE ACTIVITIES: No place has better trail rides than the scenic Ruby Valley! Come explore this region like it was explored 100 years ago. With the ranch surrounded by high mountain peaks and National Forest, we start our rides right from the ranch. See spectacular scenery along with wildflowers and wildlife that can only be found on horseback. We offer private lessons, two hour to all day trail rides, as well as overnight pack trips and cattle drives.

CATTLE DRIVE:
Experience a week long true west Cattle Drive that gives you a chance to experience a genuine cattle drive. On this trip you help real Montana cattle ranchers who still make their living close to the land. Experience riding the range with horse wranglers and cowhands, drive the cattle, brand, and sleep two nights under the stars and four nights at our lodge. You will enjoy yourself and fell like you not only visited the west you lived it. You will start the week by gathering cattle from winter pastures and take them into summer pastures. Once gathered, we help sort and doctor and begin the cattle drive into the Gravely Mountain Range. There is also much more to these trips. You have the opportunity to learn to rope, learn horseback skills, fly fish, educational opportunities and history tours to give you a glimpse of Native American camps, old gold mines and ghost towns, and a chance to see the country that Lewis & Clark Expedition passed through 200 years ago. The lodge and our camps sit on the banks of the Ruby River, so fishing and soaking are available everyday. You are welcome to go hiking sightseeing, or even take a day to
rest at camp. Hearty meals are served up three times a day.
In addition to the larger cattle drives, UCO works closely with each f the ranches throughout the summer and offers our guest the opportunity to ride through the mountain meadows and check on the cattle. Our job is to help move the cattle to new pastures, check for any strays, doctor cattle, check fences, make sure the cattle have salt and check the condition of the grass and water.

Cattle Drive:
July 5-11 (6 nights, 5 days) Gives you a chance to experience a genuine cattle drive. On this trip you help real Montana cattle ranchers who still make their living close to the land. Experience riding the range with horse wranglers and cowhands, drive the cattle, and become part of a real Montana ranch. You will enjoy yourself and feel like you not only visited the West, “you lived it.” Package includes all your lodging, meals and a UCO welcome gift.
