Hunting Rates For The 2012 Season
HUNTING RATES 2012:
GUIDED HUNTS:
All our rifle guided hunts are six nights and five hunting days. We offer a five day or eight day archery guided elk hunt. All these hunts include transportation to and from Bozeman, three home cooked meals per day, comfortable lodging and your own personal guide on a two-on-one rifle or archery hunt. One-on-one hunts are available at an additional fee. Cost does not include hunter’s license, transportation to Montana, taxidermy, meat processing, gratuity and lodging in Bozeman before the hunt starts. We have experienced, well qualified guides who know the country and understand animal habitat.
GUIDED LODGE NATIONAL FOREST HUNTS:
Hunting from the lodge gives you access to the Snowcrest, Greenhorn, and Gravelly Mtn. ranges. This versatility enables Upper Canyon Outfitters to bring the hunters to the game. Hunting is done mainly by horseback, but we also use 4-wheel drive, ATV’s and always lots of hiking, depending on the location of the elk. After your all day hunt, you can return to a warm, private room and a hot meal. We can arrange to accommodate non-hunting guests who desire a Montana experience.

GUIDED LODGE PRIVATE RANCH HUNTS:
Guided Rifle and Archery hunts are done on thee private ranches including our own. These ranches are large areas consisting of over 40,000 acres. The land varies from river bottom and hay meadows ideal for our whitetail hunts, then it turns into rolling sagebrush hills and high mountain plains –antelope & mule deer country. Then the terrain transforms into high ridges, deep canyons, mountain meadows, scattered timber and spread amongst it all are high mountain springs with aspen groves, ideal elk habitats. Hunting is done mainly by 4-wheel drive, ATV’s and always lots of hiking.

GUIDED DISCOUNTED YOUTH AND FAMILY HUNTS:
UCO understands the importance of getting more youth involved in hunting, they are the future of hunting. We offer youth hunters age 12-17 a half priced hunt when accompanying a paying adult hunter. Montana has also seen the need to get youth involved and they are offering half priced licenses to any youth age 12-17 that hunts with a parent or grandparent. What a great opportunity for sharing special time outdoors with your family.
Guided Non-Hunting Companion Meals and Lodging: $500/Week
GUIDED BLACK BEAR HUNTS FOR 2012
SPRING BEAR HUNTS: we are excited to offer our highly successful bear hunts. Our five day spring bear hunts are done by spot, stalk and calling. Black bears in our area come in various shades of Black, Brown, Cinnamon and Honey colors. Montana bear hunting is pure fair chase, no baiting or use of dogs. After your bear is harvested, your guide will skin and prepare the hide for the taxidermist. Our Bear hunting is in hunting district #317.
(2 ON 1) - $2600
UNGUIDED HUNTS:
We offer unguided hunts from our main ranch during both the rifle and archery season. When you arrive, we show you the hunting areas on the Beaverhead National Forest. We show you the best access into an area and check with you to see how effective the area was. We not only show you the area we have maps made for our unguided hunters along with topographical maps, and area photos. This year we have are added an additional service to our unguided hunts, we will help you with information on local ranchers that participate in the FWP Block Management Program. This is a program set up to help landowners manage hunting activities and provides the public with free hunting access to private land. We will give you a listing of local ranches, information on who to contact, and how to reserve a hunting date. Now you can hunt both national forest and private land on our unguided hunts. These hunts give you a quality hunt with guidance. We offer game retrieval for your harvested game at a minimal charge.
CABINS:
We have four cabins, each with its own complete kitchen and full bathroom. All cabins include towels and bedding. If you are staying in one of our cabins, you can have your meals supplied in the lodge. This gives you a satisfying hunt at a more economical price. Cabin guest meal charge: breakfast $9.00, lunch $9.50 and dinner $20.00
Private two-bedroom cabin:
Minimum of four people per cabin, each cabin sleeps 5 – 7 guests.
Private one-bedroom cabin:
Minimum of two people in cabin, cabin sleeps 1- 3 guests.

Booking Your Hunt:
Since we accommodate only a few hunters, you should make reservation in advance. A deposit of one-third is required to book a hunt. Deposits are fully refundable if you are unsuccessful in drawing a license. should a hunter cancel a hunt prior to March 1st, the deposit will be returned in full, less a $50 cancellation fee. Hunters concerned with cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances are encouraged to obtain Travel Insurance endorsed by MOGA (Montana Outfitter and Guide Association). If the hunter fails to send license application info to UCO and/or to Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks by March 15, UCO has the option to retain the deposit, or credit it to another season, provided another hunter can be booked in time to fill the open space.
