2010 celebrate with us this summer 100 Years since our Grandfather Peck Tate and his brothers Homestead in the Ruby Valley:
Upper Canyon Outfitters is located in the heart of the Upper Ruby Valley, at the foot of the Greenhorn, Gravelly and Snowcrest Mountains. Also known as the "Tate Ranch" which was homesteaded by our Grandparents Peck and Mary Tate 100 years ago this summer. The Tate Ranch has always been a working ranch in the Ruby Valley and in 1981 Bill and Bernice Tate opened their doors and set a place at the table for ranch guest. With the help of their family the ranch has grown into one of the premier guest ranches in the state of Montana. Now the ranch is managed by Donna (Tate) & Jake McDonald who still believe in true western hospitality and once you arrive at the ranch you become part of the Upper Canyon family.
Without a doubt I believe that Upper Canyon is a success not only because of the close family ties, but our friendly staff who is always willing to share with you not only a smile but a true western experience. When you return to Upper Canyon you will see many of the same guest and staff year after year.
We are truly blessed by not only the beautiful area we live in, but by the people who touch our lives. We hope we can share our Montana home with you.
