<!--Generated by Squarespace Site Server v4.1.2 (http://www.squarespace.com/) on Fri, 09 May 2008 19:34:14 GMT--><feed xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"><title>Latest News</title><subtitle>Latest News</subtitle><id>http://www.ucomontana.com/news/</id><link rel="alternate" type="application/xhtml+xml" href="http://www.ucomontana.com/news/"/><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.ucomontana.com/news/atom.xml"/><updated>2008-04-19T17:36:46Z</updated><generator uri="http://www.squarespace.com/" version="Squarespace Site Server v4.1.2 (http://www.squarespace.com/)">Squarespace</generator><entry><title>Spring is on its way - I hope!!</title><id>http://www.ucomontana.com/news/2008/4/19/spring-is-on-its-way-i-hope.html</id><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://www.ucomontana.com/news/2008/4/19/spring-is-on-its-way-i-hope.html"/><author><name>UCO</name></author><published>2008-04-19T15:35:35Z</published><updated>2008-04-19T15:35:35Z</updated><content type="html" xml:lang="en-US"><![CDATA[<p>I saw it just the other day a tiny bit of green grass.&nbsp; I do know spring is on its way to Montana - the Blue Birds, the Sandhill Cranes, the Robins and my Parents have all returned to Montana from the sun shine states.&nbsp;&nbsp; But we are expected to get 12 inches of snow today.&nbsp; We need the water so I can't complain - but I would like to be outside working.&nbsp; </p><p>Even with the long hard winter we have had the elk, deer and antelope numbers have never been so high.&nbsp; We have been watching five different groups of bull elk there are 60 bulls and some very nice 6x6 and 7x7 bulls, never remember seeing so many large bulls.&nbsp;&nbsp; There are three different herds of cow, calf and small bulls we have also been watching they range in number from&nbsp; 60 - 180 per herd.&nbsp; Whitetail, antelope and mule deer also seem in abundance this year.&nbsp; It has been a great winter for wildlife watching.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>This should be a good up coming season for our hunters - our hunters should be receiving their hunting license by April 25th.&nbsp; The state is offering 1000 additional cow elk tags in our area this year.&nbsp; This means you can harvest both a cow and a bull with this extra tag.&nbsp; Deadline to apply for this permit is June 2nd.&nbsp; Give me a call with any questions you may have on special permits.&nbsp;&nbsp; Deer, elk and antelope permits due June 2nd.&nbsp;&nbsp; Moose and goat&nbsp;permits due May 1st. </p><p>Summer fishing season should&nbsp;be productive with lots of water - just looking out the front window.&nbsp;&nbsp; We did very well with our fishing season last year and have added additional guides to the staff.&nbsp; We had a very fun women's week last summer and added overnight camping to the package.&nbsp; This year we will offer two cattle drives on in June and the other in July. </p><p>We are looking forward to the 2008&nbsp;season.&nbsp; Every year we seem to enjoy life more.&nbsp; We look forward to seeing our old friends and meeting new friends.&nbsp; What a wonderful business we are blessed with.</p><p>Thank you for your time.</p><p>Jake &amp; Donna</p><p>COWBOY WISDOM:&nbsp; </p><p>Making it in life is kind of like busting broncos.&nbsp; You're going to get thrown a lot.&nbsp; The secret is to keep getting back on. </p><p>Never kick a cow chip on a hot day.</p>]]></content></entry></feed>
