Summer Dates and Prices:
The 2010 Summer Season at Upper Canyon Outfitters starts our season in June with our 100th Tate Family anniversary party, and runs through Sept. Beginning July 1 through August we offer local history tours, special horse events, hiking tours, fly fishing, and evening activities. Listed below are our all-inclusive packages, as well as our daily rates and special event weeks. We can customize a special package to suite your individual needs.
All our packages include lodging, three meals per day, a two hour horseback ride, guided hikes and history tours, ranch fishing access on the Ruby River; and our spring-fed trout pond, plus use of all lodge facilities. At the end of your busy day join our other guest for complimentary appetizers and cold refreshments on the lodge deck to share your adventure of the day. Packages are based on double occupancy, an additional fee of 25% is charged for singles.

This package covers all the basic ranch activities listed above.

This deluxe package includes all activities listed above – PLUS: It allows you to have complete access to all ranch activities–guided fly fishing, guided horseback adventures, float trips; guided hikes, guided history tour, more than two-miles fishing access on the Ruby River, fishing at our spring-fed trout pond, and shuttle service to and from Bozeman, MT.

Fly Fishing Packages:
These packages are designed for anglers who just can’t get enough fly fishing! Fly fishing guests have the exclusive use of over two miles of the Ruby River and a private spring-fed pond on the ranch. Full-time fly fishing guides are available at the ranch for instruction, float trips, walk/wade trips, trips into mountain spring creeks and information on water conditions. We are fortunate to be in such a central location for some of Montana’s best fly fishing. UCO is an hour’s drive from the Madison and Jefferson Rivers, and 90 minutes from the Big Hole and Beaverhead Rivers–a fisherman’s paradise!
Fly Fishing Packages include: lodging, three home cooked meals daily, guided fly fishing with instruction, and complimentary appetizers and cold refreshments on the lodge deck each evening before supper. History tours, day in Virginia City, hiking and 2 hr horseback ride can be added at no charge. Packages are based on double occupancy, an additional fee of 25% is charged for singles.

Horseback Riding Packages:
Come experience a true western adventure while enjoying the scenic Ruby Valley! Explore this region by horseback. Rides begin at the ranch which is surrounded by high mountain peaks and National Forest. Our trail rides take you places where you can see spectacular scenery, wildflowers, and wildlife. We offer private lessons, two-hour rides to all-day trail rides, as well as overnight pack trips and cattle drives.
Horse & Dude Ranch Adventures: Includes lodging, breakfast, lunch and supper daily, UCO welcome gift. Ride as much as you want, take a different horseback adventure each day, enjoy guided hiking, auto tours, evening activities and complimentary appetizers and cold refreshments on the lodge deck each evening before supper. Lodge or cabin accommodations. Packages are based on double occupancy.

Cattle Drive:
July 5-11 (6 nights, 5 days) Gives you a chance to experience a genuine cattle drive. On this trip you help real Montana cattle ranchers who still make their living close to the land. Experience riding the range with horse wranglers and cowhands, drive the cattle, and become part of a real Montana ranch. You will enjoy yourself and feel like you not only visited the West, “you lived it.” Package includes all your lodging, meals and a UCO welcome gift.

Quest Week:
July 11-17 (6 nights, 5 days) is designed to enlighten and instruct our guest on how to look at the earth the way nature intended us to. You will not only learn from our skilled instructors you will have the opportunity to take control of your own destiny. See the world through the eyes of the horse with animal communication, develop your awareness skills, experience fly-fishing techniques, hiking, evening campfires, outdoor skills and wilderness philosophy, increase self confidence and the awareness of oneself alone with reducing stress through Nature Observation and relax with the fresh mountain air. This includes all lodging, meals, class materials and a UCO welcome gift.

Reservation – Cancellations
To secure a reservation, a 1/3 deposit is required. Balance is due upon arrival. Payment may be made by cash, check, money order or most major credit cards. Refunds less 50% if canceled more than 30 days prior to arrival. No refund if canceled less than 30 days prior to arrival.
